| Fireworks from the Top! |
[08/10/06] |

Hiya peeps, been a long time since my previous entry. Gonna update a lil' on my Sat. Yeah, I caught the fireworks on Sat from a pretty strategic location - at the rooftop of Al Dente, over a sumptuous meal. All was good, no squeezing, breezy weather and a great view.
And I met my ex-neighbour, she was working at Al Dente. It was good to see her and I hope everything's going well for her. I'll be going back there next Sat to view the France fireworks again. Guess what? The restaurant's accepted the reservation and prepayment, but the menu's gonna remain the same. But i'm fine with it as long as there's a choice for the maincourse.

( Finale of the Italy fireworks )
I'm still at work, so.. that's it, so long people =)

Just gotten back from a Bangkok trip last weekend. Great getaway with my Scottyboy. Though there were some glitches, everything went just as well.
By glitches, I meant that I met with some misfortune there - I was pickpocketed at Siam Square. I shan't deny it was due to my own carelessness. Well, my sling bag was placed at the back, so she had the chance to get hold of my wallet from the back. The best part was that after the security gave chase, she threw all my cards (IC and bank cards) on the floor and fled with my near-to 4000Baht, and wallet. 4000Baht is almost 200SGD! Argh.. Anyway the people there were helpful. If not for the lady boss of Siam Sq, I wouldnt have recovered the most impt card - my IC. Anyway we made a wasted trip down to the police station and found out that the person who spread the news that the girl was already brought to the police station was actually her accomplice as well. Goodness I totally couldnt communicate with the police there. They couldnt understand what I lost and I couldnt understand a thing they were trying to say as well. And I actually returned to SG with my thai 'police report'.
Other places we visited included Siam Centre, expensive shopping there. Siam Paragon, needless to say, they've got all the branded stuff there. Gaysorn Tower is like super branded region. Actually we were there in search of a Lacoste belt(sold out in sg) that Scott really liked. That explains why we visited these high-class areas. lol. Unfortunately for us, we didnt manage to find it in Bangkok either. MBK is so huge! It houses a departmental store, alot of shops and tonnes of other small stalls, most of which sells de fake stuff. Siam Square is this reallly big sqare of small shops, alleys of them! This place's got quite nice stuff, but after being pickpocketed there we decided to head somewhere else. Scott only managed to get his stuff from there after we went back there the next day. And lastly for Chatuchak, we only managed to spend less than half a day there for we were leaving for Sg at 6.15pm on Saturday. Argh. Lesson learnt - the next time u go to Bangkok, book it over the weekend. The things there are realllllly cheaper than all the places I've mentioned above, and the place is so blardy huge you'll never finish shopping. lol. I couldnt believe it rained when we were at Chatuchak. GUESS WHAT? the market was FLOODED. OMFG. the water level reached my ANKLE! Luckily I was wearing my trusty havanas slippers instead of my birks if not I think my birks would be ruined. Tissue paper, plastic cups and bags floating around. -_- Absolutely disgusting... but we had to carry on walking cos time was limited. haha
As for clubbing, we visited Bed Supper Club (it was a Model's Night on Wed). Not very impressive(imo), the place was small, divided into 2 arenas and it was packed with caucasians. And the music was so-so. And we had to pay a cover charge of SDG 20 each. -_- The next night, Scott's uncle and his wife(a local there) brought us to this entire stretch of clubs. Freaking impressive from the exterior. Just imagine having an entire row of Zouk look-alikes, maybe even better than zouk, say MOS look-alikes. The stretch is called Hollywood Street. And it's packed with party-goers even on a thursday night. And u know the best part? FREE ENTRY even if u wanna club hop! So u can just visit the different clubs at will. Great place to party! Took pictures of them, Will post them later!
Yeah that's about it, food was good, service was excellent(I meant the restaurants not the markets), thai massage was fantastic. Argh I wanna go there to finish my shopping at Chatuchak. =)

I'm all alone at home on a friday night. Yeah my lympnode's swollen for two days now. Been running a fever for these past 2 days and my body has been aching like mad I can't even sleep in peace. Being sick is never funny. I wonder if it's me or does time pass especially slowly.. Each time I look at the clock, only half an hour has passed. Probably it's due to the fact that i'm wishing it's nightfall soon so I can see the boyfriend.
He said if his exercise ended late (past midnight) he could only book out the next day. At 11pm he called and said he just reached back in his bunk and was gonna book out soon. A friend of ours was holding his birthday party tonight, so he asked if I was feeling well enough to go out. No doubt I was feeling better than this morning but I know if I go out tonight I'll spend the entire weekend in agony cos I'll never recover from my fever if I party thru the night. He said he'll go to the party for a while then come back and see me, but by that time I guess I'll be asleep. There he goes from camp, to the party. Guess I can only see him tmr morning.
Still running a fever, so long all..

Yup I celebrated my 21st Birthday on Saturday. Many people asked how it feels to be 21 years old, well I guess I attended so many 21st birthday parties till it doesn't really affect me anymore cos I'm the last of the lot. lol
We had dinner at Marche, folllowed by some "heating up" at The Balcony at Heerens. It was supposed to be some chillout session but the premises was so warm and humid we couldn't continue staying there, so we proceeded to Zouk. Haven't clubbed for a long time, music by Carl Cox was pretty good. Overall a great night, a nice gathering session with some great pals.
Great thanks to my darling, Gigi, Gail, Issac, Prisca, Huijia & Bryan, Jonathan and Kelvin, Tracy, Michelle and Mark. You were such lovely pals. Dera! I couldn't contact u. I didn't know ur number's no longer in use until we called u up that day. Ashley!!! we'll have a belated celebration for us both when u come back following weekend! =D

Nickleback - Someday |
] |
Darling was on leave for a few days the past week. He went for 2 test drives and I'm glad. Glad that he's finally got the car that he's been dreaming of and drooling about. Lol. He's like a little kid who's so excited over a new toy, just that his toy's not arrived yet so he's just drooling over the catalogue for the time being.
Anyway I'm really worried and annoyed now cos I think I just lost his collection form the IPOD. Well his Ipod was sent in for repair and since he'll be in camp, he entrusted me with the task of collecting it and now I think the form's missing. Damn it.
ARGH.

Today's the last day for darling's 3D2N technical deployment. Finally! I haven't spoken to him at all for 3 days. Hope he'll be able to call me tonight. Poor boy probably didn't get any sleep for the past 3 days. I'm so glad this is his last week of the training phase, meaning after this week no more training. Yeah. But then he'll probably still be permenantly stationed at Chompang.
Since this is the last week and it's full of tests for him, I guess I'll have to wait till Fri before telling him that his mom is back in hospital now. Since she's alright and will be discharged tomorrow, I guess I'll not let him know lest he worries and it affects his performance. Anyway it was she who forbidded me to let him know about it..
I'm not feeling well either. Was on MC on monday, woke up with a fever. And my stomach's been having this sharp pain for the entire day. Wonder what's wrong with me...
I'll update later if I have the energy.

It's my TP test tmr. I'm getting all jittery right now. I wonder if it's due to the stress I'm giving myself that my body temperature's on the rise and whole body's aching. Groan. It doesn't help that I mounted the kerb 3 times duing my last two lessons! Goodness.
Darling hasn't got the time to accompany me this entire week. He's got his design stuff to worry about. You wouldn't believe how I survived on DVDs and the PSP while laying in bed all day and night. I've been such a slug lately. There's this PSP game that's quite cute, it's something like beatmania where u have to coordinate the music notes with the buttons, this one's got a few other mini games. The characters are damn funny, however it's in japanese, so I can't make out the freaking title. Anyway Scotty boy managed to understand what the hell was going on and I just played from there. lol. Burnout's pretty good as well, according to the boy, it has received the highest ratings.
I'll continue with the games next weekend.
*Prays that I pass my driving tmr* please pray for me too!

Virgin to visit to Makino yesterday. One word: disappointing. The place was ghostly, the dancefloor empty. It's hard to imagine how it used to be bustling with people when Lola and Centro were still reigning. The decor was much the same, except that neon lights were added, making the place look more ching chong. The staff were really cheena. Spoke to us in Mandarin! It was really nice to meet Ah Huat there, gathered from him that the new management is under the boss of K Box, thus the ching chong-ness. Well, we were there out of curiosity, so we finished our drinks and headed back.
Recently I've been accustomed to seeing my darling only once a week. I try to keep myself really busy from Monday to Thursday with work, gym and driving, and then viola~ it's Friday and I get to see him again.
He'll be kept really busy next few weekends doing some T shirt design, after-course video presentation and such. I really hate it that his weekends are burnt and our time spent is limited. I just hope that all these projects he take on will pave the way for better days in his remaining NS life.
Anyway in the car today.. Aly: Why do our weekends always end so fast? Scott: That's because we're together and we spent the time meaningfully darling..
Oh yah, and I love this song by David Tao cos my Scottyboy sings it really well.

Caught Quidam on Saturday. I liked it. I thought the performance was really awesome. The acts were totally graceful. Some parts were really hilarious too. The best part is I've got my darling seated right beside me. =)
I purchased the clown nose but haven't got the chance to put it on yet, not to mention take a photo with it. Will do it next weekend when I've got the chance.
I just reminded Scott that I haven't taken a photo in ages, think I've forgetten how to smile.

You cut me down to size, and opened up my eyes Made me realize, what I could not see
And I could write a book, the one they'll say that shook The world, and then it took, it took it back from me
And I could write it down, or spread it all around Get lost and then get found, and you'll come back to me Not swallowed in the sea
Just love this song by Coldplay. I can listen to it 15886735435 times without getting bored.
Poor old me, I seldom get to use my computer these days cos the other computer in my sister's room has crashed and my sister's got so much work to do. I bet she's busier chatting than getting her ass down on her work.
My boy just moved to his new camp at Chompang (not sure if it's spelt this way). He'll be shuffling between Chompang and Airforce Sch. Anyway I've been feeling frustrated these few weekends whenever i'm out with Scott. He's physically around but we never have enough time to really do something together. He's got his Airforce assignment, homework to study, uniform to prepare and sew. ARGH the list goes on and on. Have not been in the finest moods lately. I know this is what's expected if the guy is serving NS, but I didn't know it would be so bad that sometimes I just feel I'm on the verge of exploding. It's really no easy means being the gf of a NS guy.
However, he was really sweet, he gave in to me each time I threw my tantrums. Perhaps he could really understand my agony. I know it's not easy for him as well, having to deal with mental and physical stress. He'll have to bear with these 8 weeks or so of his training cos it's really tough. I just hope it'll make his day by seeing me on weekends, and of cos make mine too =)
Really looking forward to catching Quidam with him this Saturday. Hope my week goes well. I'm bushed.
Till then..

It's been almost a month since I last updated.
In this past month, quite a number of things happened.
Firstly, I went to Hongkong! Finally! However, shopping wasn't entirely satisfying. There's this disneyland craze going on there. Everyone on the streets are clothed in Mickey or Minnie T shirts. Overdose. And I went there in search of a Transformer vintage toy for my darling but didn't manage to find it though I walked quite a number of streets. I totally couldn't converse with them. We sounded like ducks talking to chickens. They couldn't understand English or Mandarin and I couldn't understand Cantonese. And I was verbally molested while in search of the toy. You see, these guys(the shopkeepers) were talking about me (and my chest!) in cantonese. Luckily Scott's mum understood and told me about it. I immediately walked out of there. What nerve! Other than that, all else went well. =)
And Scottyboy was out of sispec 2 weeks ago. The previous week at his new vocation (Air Force School), he was allowed to book out everyday, 8-5 basis. But sad to say, that has ended. It'll be back to booking out on weekends and he'll be posted to somewhere in Yishun soon. I didn't know people in the airforce school had exams. And he had to burn his weekend studying, and what's worse, it was compulsory for him to join in the Army marathon thingy held at Esplanade this morning. The weekend just ended like that. All we did was catch a movie. The rest of the time was spent at home. He's propbably burning midnight oil studying now. Poor boy.
I'll be busier than usual now, workload piling up and my Traffic Police test in less than 2 months time. I've not even reached the mark yet.
And I need to rebond my hair. It's sooo unmanageable now. I need somewhere that does natural rebonding rather than the ultra stright type that just gets stuck to my face cos my hair is not really that thick. That was what happened the previous time. Anyone has recommendations?

It's the time of the year where the computer just decides to shut itself down and end it's own life. Yes I just formatted my computer, and it doesn't help that my darling's in camp and can't help me with all the necessary installations. So I've gotta be a good girl and not hook it up to the internet for the time being until he can get it done when he books out. So no MSN, no internet for me. BLEAH.
And the next scariest thing is I don't even know when he's booking out, or rather, he doesn't even know if he can book out on this Sat or on National Day. He's not even sure if he has to serve his duties. This is the part that really sucks.
I was really looking forward to the fireworks display on National Day until it was announced that it would be held a Marina South. WTH. Last yr at esplanade, we could book the restaurant and watch the fireworks in total comfort. I guess this yr I'm gonna have to give it a miss. Darling's only booking out for less than 24 hrs and we hava many more things to do than to join the masses to take the public transport get squeezed at Marina South just to catch the fireworks. Time really flies. As I sit here typing this entry I can still recall fondly the time we caught the fireworks last yr.
The last National Day was also the time when it really changed my life with my family when my parents almost ended up in a divorce. Up till today though we all live under the same roof, things have never been the same the minute my father's hand struck my face. He's constantly pissing me off, including this very minute. For many, home is the best place to return to after a hard day's work, but for me, home is the place where I dread to return to.
Been having a headache for the whole day. If I had a genie, I'd wish for him to bring me my darling so I could lie in his arms feeling his warmth.

It's only Wednesday night. HELP! My darling's out on a field trip which means he won't be able to give me my daily dosage of his calls at night. Best part is I don't even know which day's he booking out since his field trip ends on Saturday.
It doesn't help that I have this really huge pimple smack right in the middle of my left cheek. As big as a ten cent coin! My sis says it looks like my cheek bone. Painful can! AND there's more! Mouthful of ulcers! What's wrong with me!~!~ *wails*

I'm bored, hence this entry.
Saturday my boy booked out all dirty sweaty and eeky, with leftover camoflouge cream patches on his face. They were not allowed to bathe after section training. Instead they were forced to eat their cookhouse dinner at 6.30pm before bookout.
Caught Fantastic 4 at TM. Showtime at 11.50pm, we left the house at 11.45pm, but still made it in time before the show despite the traffic jam at the TM carpark. Not bad eh? lol.
Being the comic fanatic he is, he could tell me ALL about Marvel comics, and how each different super hero was linked to the others thru the villians. I didn't know Victor Von Doom was Spiderman's greatest enemy. Nor did I know that he was the enemy of mostly all Marvel action heroes. That explains why he managed to survive at the end of the show. KEWL. I learnt something new today. The knowledge of the 500+ comics stashed up in his wardrobe haven't gone to waste.
Apparently Sue Storm was married to Mr Fantastic in the comics but she isn't here. Anyway darling said she looked too young to be Sue Storm. shrugs. I've never read a comic in my entire life, unless those featured in the Life! section of The Straits Times are counted. So don't ask me!
He booked in just now. I'm so gonna miss him.
Meanwhile I'm gonna listen to the songs that he's been singing in the car =)
